Colombia imports bar syrups from Spain.
We make them here.
That contradiction is our reason for being. Colombia — the second most biodiverse country on the planet — was importing its bar syrups from Europe. We incorporated Maia Management S.A.S. on April 7, 2026 to change that. We manufacture here. With Colombian botanicals. And we send them to the world — including back to Spain.
Colombia has the botanicals.
It was missing someone to process them.
Researching the ingredient market for high-end bars in Colombia, we found something remarkable: the country's best bars — including our own anchor customer, El Sanatorio — were buying clarified syrups made in Spain and exported to Colombia. The price was high. Lead times were long. Traceability was opaque. And the central ingredient — tropical fruit — was growing literally minutes from the end consumer.
Contract manufacturing,
owner-level quality
We don't need our own factory to have the highest standards. We operate with certified contract equipment at INVIMA-enabled facilities — allowing us to scale without the capital costs of a proprietary plant, while maintaining full control over recipe, specification and quality control.
The First Customer: El Sanatorio
El Sanatorio is not just a bar — it is one of the reference establishments in Santa Marta's cocktail scene. When we began developing our clarified concentrates and artisanal syrups, they were the first to taste, validate, and order consistently. That initial endorsement was the market proof we needed.
Asian-Inspired Ingredients: Sushi Pop
Our range of fermented ingredients and Asian-inspired spices found its first buyer in Sushi Pop, a reference restaurant partner. Colombian black garlic, artisanal ferments and fusion condiments — all with verifiable origin and technical specification delivered with each batch. The ingredient-as-a-service model, applied to Asian kitchens in Colombia.
B2B Distribution: LlevaLleva
LlevaLleva is the B2B marketplace in the Maia ecosystem where chefs and restaurants place their ingredient orders. Our products are available there for the Colombian HORECA channel — from a minimum box to a monthly kitchen subscription. Distribution follows demand; we validate the product first, then scale.
The Lean Model: Catalogue First
We are an ingredient startup with a lean philosophy. This website is the catalogue; fulfilment follows real demand. We don't manufacture speculative stock — every batch is produced against a confirmed order. This allows us to maintain absolute per-batch quality, offer private label from low MOQs, and reinvest in product development rather than inventory.
Part of The Maia Group

The group has presence in hospitality, legal services, real estate, corporate education and B2B marketplace across the Colombian Caribbean. What this means for our clients: group-level operational infrastructure, not startup-level.

"Made in Colombia.
Sent to the world.
Including back to Spain."
Colombia is the second most biodiverse country on the planet. It has 38 lulo smallholder growers in Cauca and Nariño. It has hibiscus with anthocyanins between 1.5 and 2.2%. It has botanicals no European producer can replicate. What it was missing was someone to process them to export standards. That's us.
